The SAMPLE data are updated by moving the current fiscal year to 2006. Prior fiscal year is 2005 and the Next fiscal year is 2007.
Starting in Build LN601, AccountMate uses new file names such as amlan.exe instead of vamlan.exe, amw.chm instead of amw.hlp, etc. Although the old files are no longer used in AccountMate, these files remain in the AccountMate root directory.
In this build release, the installer will attempt to delete these old unused AccountMate files.
In the previous builds, Inventory Transaction Log shows an inventory item’s on-hand quantity and cost for each transaction. There is no option to show the inventory item’s subtotal on-hand quantity and amount.
In this build release, AccountMate is enhanced to allow a user to generate the Inventory Transaction Log report by Detail or Subtotal type. Generate the report by Detail type if you want to see the inventory items’ activities in the specified Transaction Date. Generate the report by Subtotal type if you want to see the sum of the inventory item’s on-hand quantity and transaction cost in the specified Transaction Date. The Subtotal option is available only if the report is sorted by Item #.
In the previous builds, AccountMate uses the average cost to calculate the cost of sales pertaining to the items shipped when on-hand quantity is zero or negative regardless of the inventory item’s cost method.
In this build release, AccountMate computes Cost of Goods Sold for FIFO/LIFO inventory items with zero or negative on-hand based on the following:
|
Cost Method |
Cost of Goods Sold |
|
FIFO |
Cost from the first recorded transaction that increased on-hand quantity |
|
LIFO |
Cost from the last recorded transaction that increased on-hand quantity |
AccountMate will automatically compute a cost adjustment when the inventory cost at the time of shipping the quantities in excess of the on-hand quantities differs from the purchase cost of the inventory items.
In the previous builds, the records in the Checks, Other Disbursements, Deposits, Other Receipts, and Transfers tabs of the Reconcile Bank Account appear in one specific sorting order.
In this build release, AccountMate is enhanced to allow a user to change the sorting order of the records during reconciliation. The default sorting order is not changed. If it is a blue-colored column heading, the user can sort the records in the column by clicking on the column heading. If a user clicks the column heading of a previously sorted column, the sorting order will switch from ascending to descending order or vice versa.
In the previous builds, there is no option to include Serial, Lot, or Kit # in the SO Packing Slip Report.
In this build release, AccountMate is enhanced so that a user has the option to include the Serial, Lot, or Kit # in the SO Packing Slip Report or not.
In the previous builds, the system date was used as void date when canceling the shipment or receipt of goods. Changing the void date requires changing the system date which may affect the default transaction dates of other users in a multi-user environment.
In this build release, AccountMate is enhanced to allow a user to specify a void date upon canceling the shipment or receipt of goods. The void date cannot be earlier than the Shipment or Received Goods date.

The succeeding section outlines the steps to install AccountMate 6.5 for LAN from the CD:
1. Insert the AccountMate 6.5 for LAN CD into the CD-ROM drive. If your computer does not display an AccountMate 6.5 for LAN Setup screen, click the Start button and select Run. Type “e:\setup.exe” in the open text box (where "e" is the drive letter). If your CD-ROM drive is designated with another letter, substitute the appropriate letter for the drive.
2. Follow the instructions from the setup wizard and when you are prompted to choose an installation type, select:
a. Workstation – to install run-time files only. This type is recommended for workstation installations to run AccountMate 6.5 for LAN from a mapped folder on a file server.
a. Server – to install the AccountMate application and Administrator program files, the run-time (system) files, your product key, and to select other available application components. This type is required for file server installations.
3. If you choose the Server setup type, the installer will display a Product Key window; otherwise, click Next to proceed to the Select Program Folder window, proceed to the end of the setup wizard and ignore the subsequent steps under the Quick Installation Guide section.
4. In the Product Key window, enter the 25-character AccountMate Product Key supplied to you when you purchased the software. If the product key you enter is invalid, the software will not be installed. Should you encounter problems with your Product Key, contact your AccountMate Reseller or AccountMate Customer Service.
5. In the Select Components window choose from among the following components to install. By default both the Program and Run-time Files options are selected. You MUST install both the Program and Run-time Files for AccountMate to run on a file server.
a. Program Files - installs these two components:
1. AccountMate executable files required for you to run the AccountMate program and all its functions and reports.
2. Administrator program which is required to activate the AccountMate modules, create companies in AccountMate, and manage group and user access rights, among other functions.
b. Run-time Files - installs the Microsoft Visual FoxPro and other run-time libraries necessary to run AccountMate functions and reports.
c. Source Code - includes all the source code module files purchased. The installer will list the modules for which you purchased source code; mark the checkbox beside each module listed to install the source code files into the defined destination folder. Access to this option and the selection of modules shown will depend on the AccountMate Product Key you supplied on the Product Key window.
A comprehensive conversion/upgrade instruction document and program are available for download from the AccountMate website. Refer to the Conversion and Upgrade Tools section to access the downloads.
The first time you run AccountMate 6.5 for LAN application (amlan.exe), the system will prompt you for a User Name and Password. Use the following defaults until you change them:
User Name: SUPERVISOR
Password: GO
The Administrator program will prompt you for the supervisor password when you launch it. You may use the same default password "GO" until you change it or unless you are upgrading from aprevious AccountMate LAN product. In that case, the supervisor password that was effective in the prior installation will be retained.
